Applies to:

Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version EAGLE 44.0.0 and later
Tekelec

Goal

GSM MSU counts for links connected to STPs are greater than the counts reported in PIC.

Solution

MSU Transmitted and MSU Received on one Eagle link are not supposed to be 100% same.
A message received (Rx) on one link may be forwarded by Eagle through a totally different link on a different card (Tx) hence expecting received and transmitted messages as exactly same is wrong.
If customer wants to look for number of messages received or transmitted on a link; they should look at COMP LINK report where they can see number of MSUs Received, Transmitted and (If) discarded.

Further details about measurement counters of Eagle can be found in Measurements Manual that can be downloaded from Oracle Documentation site.
