Applies to:

Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 7.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Why it could happen that the sum of TxAnswer* values for all connections for a measurement period (5 minutes) is not always equal to the sum of RxConnRequestMessages values for all connections for a measurement period (5 minutes) ?
The ratio between the both elements is always close to 1

Solution

It can never be confirmed that all messages received during a five minutes period will be sent as well during the same five minutes period.

  1. At low loads the issue is magnified : for instance 1 message less or more out of total 10 will have a 10% impact on result
  2. At high loads ratio become closer to 1 : the messages processed at start/end of period will be very less compared to the volume processed during the period
