Goal

Discuss the process to retrieve event logs and dump files from the T10000 and 9840D tape drives.

Solution

You may be asked to replicate a problem and then force a dump on the drive before retrieving the dump file. The force dump process is documented in KB 2099953.1 and from the library in KB 2269372.1.

Retrieving The Log Files

To gather the logs (including dumps):

Collect drive support logs using single drive VOP CSE version.
(VOP--File--Collect Support Logs)
This will pull ID, perms, event log, and all dump files.

Zip and upload these files as attachments to the SR.

File name rules:

Do not use spaces in any of the file names.

All file names must be unique.
