Goal

AIX OS Boot from FS1-2 LUN

Solution

When booting from FS1-2 LUN, AIX OS boolist should be modified to add the corresponding pathid for every FS1-2 path:

  • Check pathid available for bootdisk hdiskX

# lspath -t

  • list out all the paths to a specific disk:

# lspath -t -l hdisk0

  • Add the pathid to boolist for bootdisk hdiskX

Example:

# bootlist -m normal hdisk0 pathid=0,1
or
# bootlist -m normal hdisk0 pathid=0 hdisk0 pathid=1

  • Verified that pathid were added

# bootlist -m normal -o
