StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Windows 2016 cannot detect SL150/LTO5 tape drive.  Need a driver that is supported by Windows 2016.

Solution

Most of the backup applications will supply their own driver for the library and so you will just need to see the library in the device manager as an "Unknown Medium Changer".
But there are some more details that you will need to have the customer look into.
Does the customer see the tape drives in the Windows Device Manager?  It might be that the drives just need a driver loaded.
Since the SL150 is a bridge library you typically need to have the driver loaded for the drive before the library will be seen as an "Unknown Medium Changer" in the Windows Device Manager.

There are currently no plans, by Oracle, on the table to supply a 2016 Windows driver.
