The CMP offer a graphical display of key statistics for selected Policy Management devices, including MPEs and MRAs. These reports allow you to observer data from selected devices for a period of time, helping in the identification of trends.

You can select a start time and a report duration of 1, 7 or 30 days.

Goal

The CMP provides a graphical display of key statistics such as:

  • Max Transactions per Second
  • Session Counts
  • MRA Binding Counts
  • PDN Connection Counts

In this document we will review the steps to follow to generate a trending report for Transactions per Second (TPS).

 

 

 

Solution

 1.- Open a browser and connect to the CMP.  Login to CMP GUI

2.- Click on ”+” next to "System Wide Reports" options on the left column

3.- Select "Trending Reports"

4.- Select "Transaction per Second" and a graph will be displayed

5.- You can create a graph for an specific MPE/MRA or to graphs specific trend on TPS, by clicking on “Search Filter” just above the graph.

This will bring up the following screen where you can set filters based on MPE/MRA, duration and Counter

5a.- You can change the duration by clicking on the drop down menu against “Duration” and select the desired number of days  from the available options, then click “Refresh” on the bottom of the page . This will change the graph and show you the trend for the period selected instead of default of 24 hrs.

5b.- Selecting particular MPE/MRA : You can uncheck the MPE/MRA which you do not wish to be included in the graph and then click “refresh” on the bottom of the page.

6.- At this point, you can collect the screenshot of the graph at this point and attach it to the Service Request.

6a.- Click on the "Printable Format" button and a screen showing the graph will be displayed.

6b.- Take a snapshot (PrtScr) of the graph and save it on a file.

6c.- Attach the file to the Service Request (SR) by clicking on the "+" sign located in the "Attachment" sub-menu. The attachment sub-menu is located on the left panel of the Service Request. Follow the steps to upload the file containing the graph collected in the previous steps.

NOTE.

Other Options:

1.- Show aggregation: This option is available under the “Search Filter” button in the Trending Reports. This option will combine reports from all the nodes and show aggregate values. This is useful for KPI’s like “Session Count” , “PDN connection Counts” or other customized traffic related KPI counters.

2.- View Raw Data : This will show the raw data itself which is being used by CMP to plot the graph.
