Goal

T10000 and 9840D process to upgrade microcode using SDP2.

Solution

Process to Upgrade Microcode:

You can use the MD VOP Client connect to a SDP2 Server to upgrade the microcode to multiple drives at once.

This process can be used to upgrade the microcode on a 9840D tape drive or any T10000 tape drive model.

This assumes that you have network connectivity to the tape drives through the SDP2 server.

It is very important that the server version matches the client version.

The attached file describes the process to be used to upgrade the microcode for T10000A,B,C,D and 9840D with sites that have a SDP2 server connected and configured.
