Releasing the FANU 1. Log in to the XSCF shell. 2. Execute the replacefru command to display the maintenance menu. XSCF> replacefru
3. With a number key, select the chassis requiring maintenance. 4. With a number key, select the CRU requiring maintenance. Example: FAN (Fan Unit). 5. With a number key, select the faulty CRU. 6. Confirm that the selected CRU is displayed, and then enter "r". 7. Remove the FANU to be replaced, as instructed in the onscreen message. Removing a FANU Note - The serial number of the server main unit is printed on a label affixed on the front
cover. Store this cover such that it is not mixed up with the front covers of other SPARC M12 units. 2. Pull up the removal lever of the FANU. 3. Remove the FANU. Installing a FANU 1. Insert the FANU into the FANBP. Note - To connect a FANU to the FANBP, push the FANU at two places at the bottom of the
front side. Pushing the meshed section of the FANU may cause contact with the cooling fans inside, resulting in the FANU malfunctioning. 2. Secure the FANU. 3. Incorporate the FANU into the system. 4. Install the front cover. Incorporating the FANU 1. Incorporate the FANU into the system. If the displayed status is abnormal (Degrade or Fault), finish the maintenance of
the FANU and return to the maintenance start screen. Perform maintenance on the FANU again, and check whether the FANU is correctly mounted. 3. End the replacefru command.
