RTRV-TH-ALM: MASP B - COMPLTD.
rtrv-log:type=all, only show logs from when the STP was put into service 12/8/16. Also see UAM Report terminated - max. or num= count reached.
How do I clear the log so I can see recent logs?
Solution
Use the commands listed below with the date and time that the alarms are being reported by your MIBS alarming system to help you identify the possible source and failure for the UAM 0453 alarm log.
Use the specific date & time that the alarm comes in.
rtrv-log:sdate=yymmdd:stime=hhmmss:type=alarm:num=10000
rtrv-log:sdate=yymmdd:stime=hhmmss:type=uim:num=10000
Also check the status of your SCCP subsystem with the below commands, the output will show you the ratio of errors detected.
rept-stat-sccp
rept-stat-sccp:mode=full
rept-stat-sccp:mode=perf
The failure ratio percentage does fluctuate based on the traffic, so with less traffic the threshold may be exceeded if the errors remain same, in other words 20 errors out of 500 queries in a 30 second period would equate to 4 percent of the queries were with errors, 20 errors out of 5,000 queries in a 30 second period would equate to 0.4 percent of the queries were with errors. Mainly, the need to investigate the amount of errors and what is the source of the errors and possibly the need to adjust the alarm threshold if it is determined that the errors are insignificant, more information regarding the values can be found in the customer documentation under the chg-th-alm command and also in the Database Administration Manual - SS7 at the URL’s:

From the customer documentation please see below the recovery procedure for UAM 0453 - Exceeded Service Error Threshold Lvl 2.
0453 - Exceeded Service Error Threshold Lvl 2
This UAM is generated when the EAGLE 5 ISS detects SCCP or Application traffic failure rates greater than the defined level 2 Service Error Threshold.
Note: UAM 527 is also expected when the errors exceed the threshold level (UAM 452/453). These alarms are auto-cleared when the error condition abates (below threshold level1 for UAM 452 and level 2 for UAM 453)
Example
RLGHNCXA21W 00-11-07 11:02:30 EST EAGLE 35.0.0
*C 0014.0453 *C SCCP SYSTEM Exceeded Service Error Threshold Lvl 2
Alarm Level: Critical
Recovery
1. Enter the following command to verify the database threshold:
rtrv-th-alm
2. Enter the following command to verify the Fail Ratio of the service in question:
rept-stat-sccp
3. Enter the following command to retrieve records from the active or standby Alarm and UIM logs generated by the Maintenance system:
rtrv-log:type=xxx where: xxx=ALL, ALARM, or UIM.
For more information on available parameters, refer to the Commands Manual.
4. Investigate SCCP, GTT, and Application UIMs and UAMs that relate to the time frame in which the level 1 threshold was reached. Verify the functionality of the Nodes identified in those UIMs or UAMs.
Command (rtrv-log:sdate=yymmdd:stime=hhmmss:type=uim:num=10000), found the problem and error code, which enabled user to correct the issue.
