Applies to:

Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version LSMS 12.0 to LSMS 13.2 [Release LSMS 12.0 to LSMS 13.0]
Tekelec

Goal

Number if MAX_SPIDs has been reached at current level of 112 (for example), is there a way to increase this to the maximum of 512 SPIDs?

Solution

This can be done via procedure in Technical Support that requires specific "Customer Service ID" for licensing purposes, to increase to maximum of 512.
You will need to open an SR in MOS to request this increase to 512.
This information is actually available within the LSMS Configuration Guide (excluding required internal code) from the Oracle website: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E76235_01/index.htm

The procedure is as follows:

1. Login as “lsmsadm” user.
2. Issue the command dbcfginternal MAX_SPIDS <new spid limit>

Where <new spid limit> is a number from 32 to 512 in increments of 16

3. The command will prompt for a “Customer Service ID:”
4. Enter the value 823543.
5. The value of MAX_SPIDS will be updated in the database. LSMS software will allow customers to configure additional service provider ID’s.
