Goal

This solution applies to all Oracle Communications Products (Tekelec, Appworks based) systems that have the GUI user "GUIADMIN" (UDR, DSR, SDS, HLRR etc..)

The following document provides the steps on how to reset the GUI password if the password has expired and needs to be reset.

Solution

For GUIADMIN Password Reset:

SSH into the NOAM VIP as "admusr"
Execute the following command:

$ sudo /usr/TKLC/appworks/sbin/resetPassword guiadmin
Enter new Password for guiadmin
Type in password in the resulting prompt and then <enter> in order to reset the password.

Notes:

This procedure does not provide the default password, you should already possess this information to restore execute procedure. If the default password is not known, you should consult Oracle Support.
To prevent the password from expiring in the future, on the NO VIP GUI, navigate to {Administration -> General Options} and set the PasswordExpiration parameter to 0.
