Goal

Apply Changes on IXP could reports the following error:

Failed to apply changes because of the following errors : Unable to connect host - xx.xx.xx.xx(Failed to retrieve RMIServer stub: javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: xx.xx.xx.xx; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused]. Please contact system administrator

Solution

JmxAgent is not running on the active server. Use the following command to start it

[cfguser@ixp0001-1c ~]$ pm.set on JmxAgent
+ iset -fcntl=respawn PmControl where "procTag like 'JmxAgent'"
  : procTag cntl command
NEW: JmxAgent respawn /opt/TKLCixp/prod/bin/JmxAgent
  === changed 1 records ===
+ pm.wakeup
