Searched all the Gen 5 manuals and I was surprised that I could not find documentation on this issue either.

Goal

This document will assist with setting an HP LTO drive back to it's default address.

How to reset the HP LTO5 to a default 10.0.0.1 IP address.

Solution

The drive must be in a tray and powered up.

It should not matter if its a Full Height or Half Height drive, just push the reset button for 3 seconds and the IP address should return to 10.0.0.1. If this does not work, check the drive tray cabling and make sure all the connectors are plugged in correctly.

If this fails try another drive brick or tray.
