Net-Net 9200 - Version S-D6.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Configure the session agents on the 9200 SBC to work with a carrier-provided single FQDN that has multiple IP addresses behind it.

Solution

This can not be done on the 9200 by itself.  This should be done on a DNS server that the SBC is configured to use. The DNS server would be configured to recognize multiple IP addresses resolving to a single hostname.

The following parameters would need to be populated on at least one network interface

  1. dns-ip-primary
  2. dns-ip-backup1
  3. dns-ip-backup2
  4. dns-domain
  5. dns-timeout

Without the help of  a DNS server one would need to create one session agent for each represented IP address but the SBC will not allow the creation of two session agents  with the same hostname.

In this situation on a 9200 the carrier will have to provide a different hostname for each IP address.
