In this Document
Applies to:Sun StorageTek T10000 Tape Drive - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Sun StorageTek 9840D Tape Drive - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A] Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalThe process to run a health check on 9840D and/or T10000 tape drives. This process covers health checks for one or more tape drives. Solution
To initiate the tape drive Health Check process, the customer will open a SR requesting a tape drive health check.
SDP2 attached drives: The SDP2 server collects and clears the event logs from the tape drives every time a tape is unloaded therefore, the tape drive logs need to be collected by a support representative from the SDP2 server. The support representative will retrieve and analyze the event logs to complete the tape drive health check. Non SDP2 attached drives: Gather and upload the tape drive logs using Multi Drive VOP: 1) Select the drive(s) to be included in the health check: A) For Multi Drive VOP select the drive(s) that you want the health check to include. B) For Standalone VOP connect to a single drive at a time to pull logs. Click File>Collect Support Logs using single drive VOP. This will pull ID, perms, event log, and a dump (if a dump is available in the drive). 2) Upload the logs to the SR. Reference the SDP2/VOP User Guide for more details. This guide can be found as an attachment at the bottom of <Document 1014070.1>.
