Goal

How to increase amount of CPU on machines (VM with Essbase, VM with OBIEE) on Exalytics X3-4, PS 5, OVM 3.2.8 ?

Want to add CPUs to VM machines on Exalytics machine:

2 CPU to VM with OBIEE
4 CPU to VM with Essbase

Note : Licensing is covered.

Solution

Follow the below Steps to increase CPU :

Login to the OVM Manager.
Stop the Guest VM.
Change the max processors and processors value as per the requirement.
Restart the guest VM.

To check the current configuration run the below commands:

OVM> show Vm name=ESSBASE
Max. Processors = 14
Processors = 14

OVM> show Vm name=OBIEE
Max. Processors = 6
Processors = 6
