FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Field procedure for replacing a SPARC T7-1 Power Supply in a KMA Appliance.
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: KMA server should be powered down
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Prior to any hardware maintenance activities on a KMA appliance, the customer site should properly shutdown the impacted KMA as per the below procedure:

How to shutdown a KMA:

1. Log on to the system via the ILOM web interface. Go to "Remote Control", and then "Launch Redirection.

2. Log on to the KMA as a user with the "operator" role.

3. Select the option from the menu, to shutdown the KMA.

4. At the prompt, type y and press enter. The following information is displayed, indicating that the system is shutting down:

Shutting down...

5. The shutdown sequence is displayed. When it is finished, the following information is displayed:

Power down.

6. The KMA is now powered off, and any hardware maintenance can safely be performed. The KMA can be powered on using either the power button or the ILOM remote power control function.

The customer site should be aware of any potential impact on their backup environment due to this KMA maintenance activity.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:

Field Engineer should boot the KMA, and login to the ILOM redirection console and monitor the boot sequence. Ensure that the Sparc T7-1 system successfully boots up to the KMA Console Menu.
