Goal
How to gracefully shutdown the Oracle NSP server (For example in case of battery replacement)?
Solution
For a safe and graceful shutdown of the NSP Oracle server and the NSP services, follow the below procedure:
- Stop the nspservice service. Connect to Weblogic1 server as root user and run the following command:
#service nspservice stop
- Stop the Oracle service. Connect to the NSP Oracle server as root user and run the following command:
# service dbora stop
- Shutdown the Oracle server. As root user on the Oracle server, run the following command:
# init 0
- Do the HW action (Battery replacement...)
- Once HW action is done, reboot the server.
- Restart the nspservice service. Connect to Weblogic1 server as root user and run the following command:
#service nspservice start
In case of 1 box NSP, step 6 is not needed as the nspservice service will be automatically started during the server boot sequence.
