Goal

How to find a slot number location in a SL150 library?

Solution

The address of a slot can be found according to the following addressing scheme: m,L (or R),r,c

m - Module
L (or R) - Left or right side of the library
r - Row number
c - Column number

For instance, address 2,L,3,1, corresponds to: second module, left side, 3rd row, first column

Slot addresses are specified by module number (starting with 1 at the base module and counting down), side (Left or Right), row number (1-3), and column number (1-5). Tape drives are specified by module number and drive position (Top Drive or Bottom Drive). Just hover the cursor on the WEBGUI over a specific slot to get the address.

Within the diagnostic logs drives may be seen with the following address format : P:MR

P - Partition

M - Module

R - Row (Top or Bottom)

Refer to the SL150 Modular Tape Library User's Guide. Chapter 2
