Goal

 SL8500/SL3000/SL500 - How To Reset or Reboot a Drive From SLC (Streamline Library Console)

Solution

 To Reset or Reboot a drive from SLC on the SL8500/SL3000/SL500 please follow the below procedure.

  1. Start up SLC and log on in SLC in order to connect to the library
  2. Click on "Tools" menu and from the drop down select "Diagnostics"
  3. In the library list on the left double click on the "Drive Folder..." to expand it
  4. Click on the drive you wish to reset or reboot and make sure that this is the drive you wish to reset or reboot and it isn't a drive that is currently running any jobs
  5. Then in the upper right hand corner of the SLC window click on the "Reboot" button
  6. Click on the "OK" button for the dialog box asking if you want to take the drive offline
  7. Click on the "OK" button for the dialog box asking if you want to reboot the drive

Note:  If the library is not able to reboot the drive the drive could be in an inoperative state and manual intervention may be required.
