Goal

 Describe the process needed to display the drive Operator Panel message.

Solution

Connect SLC to the library.

Under the Drives heading select the drive you need to view.

Click on the drive to select it.

Click on the Display Tab.

Look at the Drive Display Data line to see the current message on the display. If it begins with CK xxxx, where xxxx is a 4 digit Fault Symptom Code (FSC), then the drive is failing bring up diagnostics. You can look up the description of the FSC using VOP.
