In this Document
Created from <SR 3-12460329461> Applies to:Acme Packet 3820 - Version S-Cx6.4.0 to S-Cz7.3.0 [Release S-Cx6.0 to S-Cz7.0]Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalTo enable/upload Comfort Noise SPL in SBC SolutionComfort Noise (CN) Generation SPL :- Comfort noise (CN) is the noise in a Real Time Transport Protocol (RTP) message (defined in RFC 3389) that is played to prevent a user from hearing completely dead silence on the connection. The Session Description Protocol (SDP) negotiates this RTP message containing the comfort noise using payload type 13 and an rtpname of "CN". However, when CN is received, normal RTP ceases. Thus, with no RTP traffic, guard timers may trigger and cause the call to be terminated. To correct this, you can load a Comfort Noise Generation SPL that allows the Net-Net ESD to generate "noise" RTP using the normal audio codec when it receives a CN indication. The Comfort noise generation is only supported on software versions. It will not work on 3820/4500 servers. The actual comfort noise is generated by the media subsystem – SPL just triggers it. Only software only media subsystem can generate CN. This is not supported and not planned for inclusion in any future release. Customer can contact the product sales representative to ask for future enhancement to the products to support this. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
