Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

What is the meaning of this alarm:

TKPIC20532
ProblemText:
  Major Threshold (136.8%)
  Alarm Id = 29130
  Managed Object Id = 1052
  Probable Cause = thresholdCrossed
  Severity = major(2)
  Trend Indication = lessSevere(0)
  Threshold Level = NA
  Observed Value = NA
  Specific Problem = TKPIC20532: Message Feeder Outgoing traffic over the specified threshold
  First Date = 20160126111950
  Critical Count = 0
  Major Count = 0
  Minor Count = 9
  Warning Count = 1
  Acknowledged = false(0)
  Managed Object Name = 0
  Managed Object DN = pmf-1a

Solution

The alarm implies that the sum total outgoing traffic at the xMF (to ICPs/IXPs) is beyond the configured maximum.

The threshold in question is the MfOut threshold.

Set Thresholds

Thresholds could be modified as described below :

  1. Navigate to Acquisiton->Sites->pmf->pmf:XMF->Pmf-0a(PMF NG)
  2. Right click select Feeder Thresholds…Change all MfOut thresholds
    1. MfOuttHiThreshold
    2. MfOutLoThreshold
    3. ..HoldOn
    4. ..MaxThroughput
  3. An apply in NSP CCM must be done on PMF to push the new threshold to the server
  4. Terminate the alarm
  5. Check if it is coming back.

Increasing threshold may not be enough as it goes above 100%.
It is possible to increase mfOutMaxThroughput. It can go up to 409600.
