Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
A new feature introduced in SW 6.0 called Active/Standby Peer Node Support, allows a Active/Standby mode on a "Connection level" within a "Peer".
How do we make an entire Peer node on Standby Mode?
Solution
There is NO way to make an entire Peer node Standy.
Feature description:
- Adds a new diameter connection configuration attribute, which provides capability to suppress the connection unavailable alarm.
Ex: ‘suppress connection unavailable alarm’ option– Default: OFF; Range {ON, OFF}
This attribute can be configured on any/all diameter connections.
If this attribute is configured and selected, DSR will not raise connection unavailable alarm
- Adds a new diameter connection configuration attribute, which provides capability to suppress the connection attempts when peer node status is available.
For the feature to work as defined, number of configured primary connections is same as number of configured secondary connections
DSR, will continue to use ‘Minimum Connection Capacity’ peer node attribute for peer node availability threshold:
Ex: ‘Suppress connect when peer is available’ option- Default: OFF; Range {ON, OFF}
Option can be configured and selected for Initiator, Initiator + Responder connections.
