Goal

Customer has a Brocade 5300 that the SL3000 has been running on for years and it does an L_Port login. They upgraded to a Brocade 6510 and the SL3000 won't login.

Solution

The Brocade 6510 does not support loop mode connections. Access the SL3000 CLI and with the command "fibreConfig" set addressing to "soft" (hard addressing disabled) on the port in question (1 or 2). This will enable fabric support and allow the SL3000 to connect to the switch as an F_Port.
