Created from <SR 3-11888306861> Applies to:Exalytics In-Memory Machine X4-4 - Version All Versions and laterOracle Exalytics Software - Version 1.0.0.3.0 and later Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalThe Linux global system messages file /var/log/messages on DOM0 on Virtualized Exalytics Server is full of these messages: Dec 13 05:42:44 srv-xxx-x kernel: qlcnic 0000:a0:00.0: link state down
Dec 13 05:42:44 srv-xxx-x kernel: qlcnic 0000:a0:00.1: link state down Dec 13 05:42:44 srv-xxx-x kernel: qlcnic 0000:e0:00.0: link state down Dec 13 05:42:44 srv-xxx-x kernel: qlcnic 0000:e0:00.1: link state down Dec 13 05:43:14 srv-xxx-x kernel: qlcnic 0000:a0:00.0: link state down Dec 13 05:43:14 srv-xxx-x kernel: qlcnic 0000:a0:00.1: link state down No other networking issues or errors are observed on the Server.
SolutionThe message "kernel: qlcnic 0000:a0:00.0: link state down" are a reference to the qlogic fiber NIC which are not connected to anything, hence no link is detected. The network functionality of the Qlogic cards are not even supported in a Virtualized Exalytics so this would be the normal configuration and not an issue with the environment. You can ignore these messages. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
