SolutionOn Windows, the SMB client software 'hides' the share names which ends with a $ sign. Notice that this is a windows-specific convention implemented at the client level and does not depend on the permissions settings configured on the ZFSSA for the share.
The name of the shares can only be using alphanumeric charaters and few special characters excluding the $ sign. However the share name used to identify the share within ZFSSA does not need to be the same as the share name used from an SMB perspective, called an SMB Resource Name.
In order to create a share with a "SMB Resource Name" that contains an ending $, please follow these steps
Instead, if you browse to \\ZFSSA you will not see any share named after mytest$ Notice: It is a prerequisite, before making these steps, to configure the Active Directory settings and to activate the SMB and Active Directory services under Configuration > Services
