Goal
1) Could Oracle advise the Q.707 T1 timer? what is the default value for Eagle?
Supervision timer for signalling link test acknowledgement message (equal or greater than T6 of Q.703)
2) The below logs mean SLTM fail after one time or after the second time attempt?
0250.0224 ** SLK 1207,A REPT-LKF: link test failed
3) Eagle would send SIOS to far end after link test failed? what is the timer value? b/w SLTM > SIOS
Solution
1) Could Oracle advise the Q.707 T1 timer? what is the default value for Eagle?
Supervision timer for signalling link test acknowledgement message (equal or greater than T6 of Q.703)
In Eagle; MTP layer 2 timers are set by command: chg-l2t
To see present timer values; run command: rtrv-l2t
2) The below logs mean SLTM fail after one time or after the second time attempt?
0250.0224 ** SLK 1207,A REPT-LKF: link test failed
Eagle does SLT twice before this UAM.
Timer T2 specifies the time to wait between running SLTM tests for a normally functioning signaling link.
Timer T1 specifies the time to wait before running the SLTM test again After an SLTM test fails.
These timer values can be checked by running following command: rtrv-slt
3) Eagle would send SIOS to far end after link test failed? what is the timer value? b/w SLTM > SIOS
If the link fails the alignment proving period, the link alignment sequence starts (SIOS) with a LI of 2.
The LI of 2 is letting the Far End know we are ready to start the alignment handshake.
After the first SIO with the LI of 2, the other SIOs and SIOSs use LI of 1.
The timer value can be checked from command: rtrv-slt
You can change (using chg-slt command) without blocking the relevant links.
CAUTION:
Please take care while changing the timer values as these dictate how Eagle behaves in terms of MTP layer2 and Layer3 management.
NOTE 1:
The Eagle allowed values of these two timers are:
T1 Timer "aligned/ready" Eagle allowed range: 4-12 seconds
T2 Timer "not aligned" Eagle allowed range: 30-90 seconds
Note 2:
The value of T1 should be greater than the level 3 timer T6.
The level 3 timer T6 can be 0.1 to 2 seconds.
you can check the l3 timer values using command: rtrv-l3t
