Goal

This document describes the procedure to determine the version of FS System Manager (GUI) and fscli (CLI).

Solution

Version of FS System Manager

  1. Log into FS System Manager.

  2. Click on the Help menu.

  3. Click About. The version will be listed top left corner.

Note: It is recommended to download the Oracle FS System Manager GUI and fscli for any new software version you install. Otherwise it may not function correctly or it may not display any new features.

Refer to <Document 2085329.1> FS System: How to Download and Install the Oracle FS System Manager (GUI) client.
Refer to <Document 1991938.1> FS System: How to Obtain and Install the fscli Tool Software.

Version of fscli

Note : You do not need to be logged in to an Oracle FS System to retrieve version information.

  1. Make sure the fscli software is downloaded and extracted. Refer to <Document 1991938.1> FS System: How to Obtain and Install the fscli Tool Software.

  2. Execute the following fscli command:

    # fscli version -list

    Example:
    # fscli version -list
FSCLI : 060201-025402      <--- Currently installed fscli version
    OracleFs : 060201-025402

You can find the FS System Manager version from the system logs as below.

  1. Extract and run scanlog against the system log.

  2. Go into the "log" directory.

  3. Search for oraclefsgui in server-csi.log.*.

  4. The ClientBuildVersion is the current version of the FS System Manager.

Example :

# vi server-csi.log.*
<ClientName>oraclefsgui</ClientName>
<HostName>......</HostName>
<ClientBuildVersion>060200-025200</ClientBuildVersion>
