Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

 How to view and collect the User_Activity and Host_Activity Log for a StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library.

Solution

If a SL150 library shows alerted or one wants to see the activity Log, use the User Activity and the Host Activity Log of the SL150 library.

To view the User_Activity Log:

1. Log in as an admin user to the Web GUI of the SL150 library.

2. Click on Activity Log button up at the top right of the page.

    A Library Activity pop up window will appear.

3. Click on User Activity Tab to view information related to User, like actions, errors, status.

Menu Description:
Start Time :The time and date that the event occurred.
Action Name : Name of the action, performer by the user or component.
Detail : Description of the action, performer by the user or component.
By : Owner who performed the action (admin, Operator Panel, others).
Duration : Time that the action took.
Status : Status of the action performer (completed, failed, interrupted)

 


 

To view the Host_Activity Log:

1. Log in as an admin user to the Web GUI of the SL150 library.

2. Click on Activity Log button up at the top right of the page.

    A Library Activity pop up window will appear.

3. Click on Host Activity Tab to view information related to Host, like time, actions and status.

Menu Description:
Start Time :The time and date that the event occurred.
Action Name : Name of the action, performer by the Host (mount, dismount, import).
Detail : Description of the action, performer by the Host.
By : Owner who performer the action (Host).
Duration : Time that the action took.
Status : Status of the action performer.

 


 

Saving the Activity Log to a File:

If saving the log to work offline or there is a need to open a service request, save the contents of the User Activity and/or Host Activity log to a file.

Proceed as follows:

Export the Activity Log
1. In the Library Activity pop up window, select Activity User or Activity Host tab.
2. Click on the Export icon up at the right of the pop up page.
3. Save the file to disk.

  

Note: The UserActivity.xls file is compatible with current spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Excel 2010 and Apache OpenOffice 4.0.0 You can also view these files in web browsers: simply rename the file using the .html file extension in place of .xls.

  Note : When Submitting a Service Request to Oracle please include a Service Bundle, this includes all of the above information. See..
