In this Document
Oracle Confidential PARTNER - Available to partners (SUN). Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalTo replace the PUF - PUO 48V power cable This picture shows you the damage that may of occurred. The picture shows a chopped cable looking down from above. SolutionEstimated Time: 30 minutes Action Plan to replace this cable assembly.... Full Outage of 3 Hours Minimum is needed for this work. Part number needed is 419907103 this can be ordered via the NO PARTS process.
1. All Cell Arrays must be removed from the Base unit. You can remove just the two on each side and you will find 4 screws that hold each module in place these can be lifted on CM and then removed, Place them in an order to enable you to easily reinstall them again (the cells at the TOP are 13 rows in size, the middle are 12 rows, the bottom cells are 11). 2. The last cell array is for the targets and ID cells. There are 5 screws holding this in place, the 5th is in the middle, you will need to crouch low to see this. 3. The DC power cables on the rear must be removed to confirm no current is still present. 4. Disconnect the power from each PUO card (Left Side BLUE cable) 5. Disconnect the signal cable from each PUO card (Right side GREY cable) 6. All drive trays must be either removed or pulled completely or out 3 inches from the rear to allow access to the cable assembly. 7. Please start to disconnect the cable from the PUF Cards at the bottom (You will need to remove the cables ties in the middle) and replace these later. 8. Then you will need to un-route the cables very slowly as the metal is sharp, these are all attached via cable ties that can be removed with a flat blade screw driver and reused later. 9. You will find at the top of this cable, depending on the library age, that there maybe a black hook at the top of the cable, this will just lift up. 10. Please do this extremely carefully. 11. At this point replace any PUO cards if needed. 12. Please reverse this action plan to place the cable back inside.
Engineers will need to take special care when slotting the drive expansion units back in. If the cables are not routed correctly the same damage may occur. After this is completed, run diagnostics and test all drives. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
