** NOTE :: This is a correction to published documentation **

As of 11/1/2015, the Product Notes still have incorrect information:

"Fabric Interconnect Requirements"

"An Oracle Fabric Interconnect with a PCI Gen 2 chassis and FP2 front panel is required for XgOS 4.0 and 3.9.0. See “Upgrading to the FP-2 Front Panel” on page 8 for more information on FP2 front panel."

Solution

Per Oracle OVN Engineering, the original documentation information is incorrect. XgOS 4.X can be installed on either Gen 1 or Gen 2 front panels without issue.
