In SL3000, IBM LTO6 has 2 network ports: LAN and encryption.
Encryption port answers to 10.0.0.1 using LTO VOP.
LAN port does not answer to 10.0.0.1 but Link LED is lit.
Operator panel shows N/A for IP address, netmask and gateway.

Goal

How can I set IP address for LAN port?

Solution

The LAN port is a service port for getting drive dumps and upgrading code.

The IBM LTO6 Operator and Service guide covers how to do these functions via the Ethernet port and what the default IP address for that port is.

The only way to change the IP address on the LAN or Service port is to connect to the drive over the data path (FC connection) and use the IBM ITDT tool.
