Applies to:

Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Congestion alarms (Connection Degraded (22102) and Ingress MPS Rate (22328))  caused by a routing loop

Solution

Remove secondary route used with message copy function:

  • With the message copy function for DSR1, two routes were built, the primary route was to go to the remote server, an alternate route was built to DSR2. This DSR2 had routes built to send this traffic to DSR1. The user turned down the primary message copy route which caused messages to be sent to DSR2. DSR2 received these messages and sent them back to DSR1, causing a routing loop.
