GoalHow to Replace an NMS (Netra Modular System) FBH Cable SolutionCAP PROBLEM OVERVIEW: It is recommended before arriving on site to review the process in the service manual supplement as it contains graphic and additional information that is too large or too complex to fix into this text only CAP. Tools Needed: 1. Follow safety and ESD precautions. 2. At the rear of the modular system: 3. Disconnect the faulty cable from the FMM, and pull the connector end out of the modular system. 4. Connect the new FBH cable to the FMM, and tie it to the FBH tray. 5. If the FBH cable goes to slots 3-10 or slots 28-34: 6. Remove other nearby FBS covers as needed, laying in the replacement cable as you work up or down, reinstalling FBS covers as you install the FBH cable. 7. Disconnect the faulty FBH cable from the FBS PCB, and remove it from the channel. When done, you will have completely removed the faulty cable. 8. Connect the new cable to the FBS PCB. 9. Repeat Step 7 and Step 8 iteratively until you have completed the process for each FBH connection. Repeat these steps seven times for an FBH above the FMM, and eight times for an FBH below the FMM. Note: If you are replacing the cables above the FMM, there will be one unused cable in the bundle and its RJ45 connector should be plastic wrapped. 10. Install the node rear support bracket at slot 20. Check the orientation, the shelf should be on top. 11. A yet to be determined software command might need to be run at this step after the cable has been replaced. If needed, see: How to Remove FBS Covers from a Netra Modular System VCAP
