FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

It is recommended before arriving on site to review the process in the service manual supplement as it contains graphic and additional information that is too large or too complex to fix into this text only CAP.

Tools Needed:
#3 Phillips screwdriver - recommended magnetic with 6" minimum shaft.  A 12-16" works best on this system.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

1. Follow safety and ESD precautions.

2. Remove the node at slot 15.  If there is no node at this location, remove the cosmetic cover and cosmetic cover bracket at this location.

3. Remove the slot 15 side rail on the side corresponding to the faulty power cord.

4. Disconnect the faulty power cord from PDU.

5. Remove the node FMM rear support bracket from slot 20.  Take note of the orientation, the shelf is on top.

6. Disconnect the faulty power cord from the FMM PSU.

    Note:  The cable may be tied to the frame chassis with a Velcro strip.

7. Connect the replacement power cord to the FMM PSU.

8. Connect the replacement power cord to same location on the PDU.

    Note: There is no need to reattach the Velcro strip it is only needed for shipping.

9. Verify that the FMM PSU has power by viewing the LEDs.

10. Install the node rear support bracket at slot 20.  Check the orientation, the shelf is on top.

11. Reinstall the side rail and the node in slot 15.  If removed in step #2, replace the cosmetic cover bracket and the cosmetic cover.
