Applies to:Netra Modular System - Version All Versions and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. GoalHow to Replace an NMS (Netra Modular System) Switch Power Cable SolutionCAP PROBLEM OVERVIEW: It is recommended before arriving on site to review the process in the service manual supplement as it contains graphic and additional information that is too large or too complex to fix into this text only CAP. Tools Needed: 1. Follow safety and ESD precautions. 2. Remove the status LED panel. Also remove the cosmetic cover(s) between the LED panel down to and including the cosmetic cover of the switching needing service. 3. Remove the coupler panel from the RETMA rails, leaving the cables connected, if possible. 4. Remove the fiber tray, if it is blocking the power cord. 5. Disconnect the faulty power cord from the switch. Work the power cable up to the top of the rack above the switches so that it doesn’t get lost or trapped in the side of the rack. 6. Remove the faulty power cord from the rear of the modular system. 7. Connect the replacement power cord to the switch. 8. Connect the replacement power cord to the PDU, routing it around the RETMA rails (same as the other switch power cords). 9. Verify that the switch now has power on the replacement cord and associated PSU. 10. Install the fiber tray, coupler panel, and LED panel. Replace all cosmetic covers removed earlier in step #2.
