Goal

SL8500/SL3000 - How to View Serial Number of Drive Tray Using SL Console.

Solution

For drive issues in the SL8500and SL3000, we would like our customers to open Service Requests against the drive tray Serial Number. This will allow the customer to have easier access to the drive tray Serial Numbers when they are opening a Service Request for a specific tape drive. This information can be found using SLConsole.

Configure the Drive Tray Serial Numbers using a remote SLConsole session:
1. Select Tools > Configuration
2. Click the Drive Tray S/N tab.
3. Click Refresh to display the current data.

Use the appropriate drive tray serial number when opening a Service Request.
