It is recommended before arriving on site to review the process in the service manual supplement as it contains graphic and additional information that is too large or too complex to fix into this text only CAP. Tools Needed: WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : Remove the faulty Coupler Panel 1. To avoid any lost connections or frozen operations, stop all applications currently running or scheduled to run. 2. Follow safety and ESD precautions. 3. If any external cables are connected to the coupler panel: a. Record the connection locations for all external cables connected to the coupler panel. Customers cabling identifiers are specific to their modular systems and are not prelabeled. In contrast, factory cables are pre-labeled with connection information. b. Disconnect all external cables. 4. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws holding coupler panel to the frame. 5. Carefully pull out coupler panel and remove all internal cables. Install the new Coupler Panel 1. Follow safety and ESD precautions. 2. Connect the internal cables to the correct ports, per cable labels. The correct ports are the ones that face the front of the modular system when the coupler panel is installed. These cables loop over the top of the coupler panel when installed properly. The cables are marked with the port location. 3. Carefully push the coupler panel back into slot, keeping clear of any possible fiber cables that may exist. 4. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, insert the four screws to attach the coupler panel to its mounting brackets. 5. Reconnect external cables, including any external cables the customer had connected, to the ports on the coupler panel. For the customer external cables, refer to the notes created earlier to reconnect cables to their previous locations. 6. If needed, resume applications that were stopped for the service.
