Goal

Is there a method to connect the Eagle STP with NTP servers for time synchronization ?
If available, please share the procedure.

Solution

There is no provision of synching Eagle time with NTP. That is not required by Eagle.

However; if you want to sync Eagle Clock with an external NTP source; any of the following can be provided to the Eagle and configured accordingly as external clock source:

a. T1 framed clocking per American Standards National Institute (ANSI)T1.101, Synchronization Interface Standards-1999 .
b. T1 unframed clocking per section 5 of ITU, Standard G.703. The hardware supports this clock and the FE005011 will be updated to include this clock.
c. E1 framed clocking per Section 9 of (translation from French, ITU) Consultative Committee on International Telegraphy and Telephone, standard G.703.
d. E1 unframed clocking per Section 13 of ITU, Standard G.703.

You will also need two clock cables for each STP, one as a primary and the other as a secondary source.

In order to verify the external clock connectivity, please refer to customer docs:
Documentation Library >Installation >Procedure to Replace or Add HS Master Timing Clock Cables with backplane (P/N 850-0330-06/07)

Here you will find full and Detailed information, also step by step and diagram to connectivity

Also, Please, refer to:
Online Documentation > Communications > Communication Documentation for Tekelec Products > Eagle >Command Manual >chg-stpopts;

Please, read all parameters and dependencies surrounding this command and modify the parameter “e1unframed” depending upon which clock source is being provided to STP.

these are the options:
:hsclksrc – the source of the high-speed master clock.
1. rs422 – T1 (1544 KHz) or E1 (2048 KHz) RS-422 clock interface (This is already set)
2. t1framed – T1 framed clocking as defined in ANSI T1.101, Synchronization Interface Standard, 1999.
3. t1unframed – T1 unframed clocking as defined in ANSI T1.102, Digital Hierarchy Electrical Signals, 1987.
4. e1framed – E1 framed clocking as defined in section 9 of ITU-T Recommendation G.703, Physical/Electrical Characteristics of Hierarchical Digital Interfaces, October 1998.
5. e1unframed – E1 unframed clocking as defined in section 13 of ITU-T Recommendation G.703, Physical/Electrical Characteristics of Hierarchical Digital Interfaces, October 19.
