 SL8500 - Track Alignment Tool Procedure and Tool Part Number.

Solution

To obtain the SL8500 Rack Alignment Tool:

•  Available at the parts depot as part number 419894002(You will need a Service Request SR/Task to check out a tool).

•  Use the rack alignment tool after the intermediate rack stops have been installed. Reference the Intermediate Rack Stop Installation Tool Procedure

•  Promptly return the rack alignment tool using the return label that will be provided to you.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
1. The rack must have been properly installed for the Rack Alignment Tool to be effective. All rack must be properly connected and tapped tight according to the instructions available in the installation manual.
2. The length of gear rack with rack stop is designed to fit fully within the length of the aluminum extrusion when properly installed. The rack stop on a base LSM should not extend beyond the end of the extrusion end by more than
.06” (1.5 mm), and may be inset by up to .20” (5 mm) on a 5 expansion frame unit. Should there not be adequate room to properly install the rack stop in the end of the extrusion, first check that the rack has been properly snapped
together and tapped tight according to the installation manual. Should this step fail to achieve satisfactory results, contact Tier 3 Support.
3. If robots are present in the library, they should be pushed to the center, in front of the drive bays.
4. Rail power must be turned off.
