Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 2041110.1 : MTU Setting for Network Port Serving IPv4 and IPv6 Traffic
Setting MTU for a network port that has both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses configured In this Document
Created from <SR 3-9834765381> Applies to:Acme Packet 3820 - Version S-Cx6.3.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. GoalA user may configure multiple network interfaces on the same physical interface (network port) on an NIU. The configuration setting signaling-mtu is a network interface setting, that applies to traffic served by the specific interface. SolutionFor earlier software versions, when there are configured multiple network interfaces on a single physical interface, with some network interface serving IPv4 traffic and other(s) serving IPv6 traffic, configuring the signaling-mtu setting on the specific interface may not apply to the served traffic in case of IPv6 traffic. To work around this, you may want to limit the IPv6 traffic on a single physical interface (NIU port), and then apply the specific setting there. This could pose a blocking point in scenarios where large packets are fragmented, and they are not relayed efficiently by the SBC through the network interfaces, causing packets to get dropped and signaling to fail.
