Goal

Servicing the Drives and Cables in the 1U Rackmount Tape Enclosure.

Solution

There are 2 ways to service the drives and cables in the 1U Rackmount Tape Enclosure:

- Slide the unit out as far as the rack rails allow. This will give enough room to then unscrew and remove the top access cover to gain access to the inside of the 1U Rackmount Tape Enclosure.

- One can slide the unit out as far as the rack rails allow and then pull the "white plastic spring loaded lock tabs" towards you on each rail. This will allow you to lift up on the front of the unit. Once you have lifted the front of the unit up slightly so that the guide knobs that were locked in place are above the rack rails, then pull it slightly towards you. This will enable the rear guide knobs to slide out of the locked position in the rack rails. Then lift the whole unit up and set it on a bench to unscrew and remove the top access cover to gain access to the inside of the 1U Rackmount Tape Enclosure.
