Goal

This article describes activity required by a System Administrator to verify whether a PCP_EVT_CONTROLLER_DISABLED is actionable. If actionable, instructions will be provided as to how to proceed.

Solution

Auto Service Request (ASR) provides automatic failure detection and SR creation for Oracle hardware systems.  See http://www.oracle.com/us/asr/index.html  for more information on ASR.  This particular ASR event has created a Service Request.   This requires manual verification in order to determine whether further action by Oracle Service is required.

1. Verify the health of the array:

From the Gui -> Alerts and Events -> Status Summary and verify the overall status of the FS1 also ensure there are no Admin actions open.

2.  This can be caused by downrev code.  Please ensure you are at the latest code release.  You can check the latest recommended code version by referencing the release matrix: FS System: Current Recommended Software/Firmware Matrix Document 1967797.1

3.  If this event was generated due to a maintenance activity, it can be safely ignored.

Additional Information:

Please update your SR if the proposed solution did not fix the issue, a support engineer will then be assigned to assist.

NOTE: Without further updates the SR will close after 14 days.
