SL150 - Auto Cleaning Support

Solution

With the 2.50 code release the SL150 now allows our customers to configure Auto Cleaning to clean their HP and IBM LTO drives.

- Requires that a universal cleaning tape with a “CLNUxxCU” label be placed into a reserved slot.
- If used, the backup application needs to have their auto cleaning feature disabled.
- The library will perform the cleaning on the drive after the library has internally received a tape alert from the drive.

The cleaning notification occurs at the time when the data tape in use is unloaded. Cleaning will begin after the tape drive is empty and idle.
