 How to Replace an Ethernet 10BASE-T Cable (CAT 5E UTP) for a HUB or Router or Switch.

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
   PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Ethernet 10BASE-T Cable is defective and needs to be replaced.
   WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:
   WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

1. Unplug the defective Ethernet cable from the HUB or Router/Switch and from the unit at the other end by depressing the tab holding the ethernet cable in the jack.

2. Plug the new Ethernet cable to one of the ports on the HUB or Router/Switch and into the unit at the other end.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
   WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:

Be sure that the HUB/Router is receiving data. The port activity light in which the Ethernet cable is connected should be lit.
