Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 2029678.1 : Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance: How to determine which connector is assigned to which UART on a 7420 or ZS3-4 Clustron card
In this Document
Applies to:Sun ZFS Storage 7420 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases] 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) GoalTo identify which port on a Clustron card is associated with which UART and Ethernet port
NOTE: To confirm that the cluster 'links' cabling is correctly configured - See Document ID 2081179.1
SolutionThere are 2 UART connections and one Ethernet connection on a Clustron card.
This is an example of the 'normal' status: NAS:> configuration cluster links
clustron2:0/clustron_uart:0 = AKCIOS_ACTIVE clustron2:0/clustron_uart:1 = AKCIOS_ACTIVE clustron2:0/dlpi:0 = AKCIOS_ACTIVE
If one sees something different than that such as the following, then it could indicate that a cable is not plugged in fully or is bad. NAS:> configuration cluster links
clustron2:0/clustron_uart:0 = AKCIOS_ACTIVE clustron2:0/clustron_uart:1 = AKCIOS_TIMEDOUT clustron2:0/dlpi:0 = AKCIOS_ACTIVE
Each Clustron port has an indicator that is either Green (OK) or Amber (not OK).
The Clustron connections on a 7420 or ZS3-4 are: Top: uart:1 Middle; ethernet (dlpi) Bottom: uart:0
