Goal

Prevent unnessesary HBA replacement for LP11000 - for Oracle Branded and Non Oracle branded HBA

Solution

 Before replacing an HBA , check the Status Leds from:

example Oracle branded HBA

========            ====================== ========  =======      ====  ===   ===  =====  ===========
FC HBAs
CODENAME               OPTION# / PART#        FRU          MODEL        SSID  BUS         xGb  PORTS  FCODE PATCH
========            ====================== ========  =======      ====  ===   ===  =====  ===========
Pyramid-E1             SG-XPCI1FC-EM4-Z       375-3398  LP11000-S    fc11    PCI-X      4Gb      1      124816

If you find  the following Led Pattern of a suspected LP11000 HBA:

Green(blinking) <==> Yellowr(off) <==> indicates <Normal - Link Down>

This is most likely NOT an HBA problem.

Check the corresponding FC Cable.

Check the corresponding SFP.

Check the corresponding Switch port.
