Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 2014877.1 : Number Of Allowed Wrong Login Attempts
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-10766269081> Applies to:Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version E5-MS 45.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. GoalWhenever the E5-MS GUI client is launched, the user is prompted at E5-MS Authentication screen to login to the system. If the user makes a wrong login attempt, the system will increment the count of wrong login attempts for that user by one. The count is reset to zero at every successful login. If the user has reached the maximum allowed number of unsuccessful login attempts, the user account is locked and a corresponding message is displayed to the user. By default the maximum allowed number of unsuccessful login attempts value is set to 5 in configuration file. This value is definable by E5-MS Administrator.
SolutionE5-MS Administrator can define the maximum allowed number of unsuccessful login attempts by setting the desire value in configuration file or reset the value to zero to disable the enforcement of this rule for all E5-MS users. 1. Login E5-MS command line as user "root". 2. service e5msService stop 3. Open and edit the configuration file "Tekelec/WebNMS/conf/NmsProcessesBE.conf". 4. Service e5msService start
