Applies to:

Oracle Communications EAGLE (Hardware) - Version EAGLE 3x.x and later
Tekelec

Goal

Two softswitch are working in Master and Slave configuration. Eagle STP is connected to Master and Slave SoftSwitch.

The links with the Slave SoftSwitch are showing active status even when the links with Master switch are up.

Solution

Both the primary and secondary softswitches have same Point Code. Hence the Eagle STP does not differentiate between both the entities.
The associations to the slave softswitch go down while the master softswitch remain in active state. Hence as long as a link is up; Eagle STP will send traffic to it because it will have no other mechanism to identify that the far end is a redundant/slave softswitch.
